Biological monitoring in Kanagawa (April 19, 2013)

Biological monitoring in Kanazawa Zoo (April 19, 2013)

Kanazawa Zoo, covering an area of 12.8 hectares, is located within the 58.5 hectares of Kanazawa Natural Park, which is situated next to the Greenery Preservation Area and the Civic Forest on the outskirts of Kita-kamakura, Kanagawa prefecture. The zoo offers a zoological-geographical display divided into the four continents of America, Eurasia, Oceania, and Africa. So I visited Kanazawa Zoo to see biological impacts of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. I saw many people visiting there and I could not find any impact of the accident. People in Kanagawa prefecture have no worry about the accident, because it is far away from the site and there is no contamination by the accidents.

2 years have passed since Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident, I have visited various places from south to north of Japan. Fortunately I have never found any impacts by the accident among creatures. As far as I know, nobody has health problem which is caused by the accident. So people in Kanagawa have already forgotten the nuclear power plant accident because Kanagawa is very far away from the site and radioactive materials cannot reach there. I think there is no problem for child birth and child rearing in Kanagawa. So people in Kanagawa are living without any concern about the accident.

I continue to visit various places in Japan to see the effects of the accident, because I can meet various creatures and know how they are. It is important to see their health for our safety.
