Biological monitoring in Hokkaido (March 26,2013)

People-watching in Hokkaido

Hokkaido is an island in the northernmost of Japan and its aria is 83,456.58km2 consisting of the 22% of the total land area of Japan. As an island, Hokkaido is currently being the 21th largest islands in the world. There are many attractions of Hokkaido including four distinctive seasons, untouched majestic nature, and plenty of great food. Each season has its different characteristics, offering various scenery, activities and food, which have been drawing large number of visitors every year from both domestically and internationally.
So I visited Hokkaido to see biological impacts of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. Hokkaido is famous for ski and snowboard resort too. Because of luck of enough snow in Tokyo, they often visit there for skiing and snowboarding in the best powder snow.
People in Hokkaido are fine and I cannot find any impact of the accident there. People in Hokkaido have no worry about the accident, because it is far away from the site and there is no contamination by the accidents.

福島第一原発事故による影響を見るため北海道を訪問した。事故後、南は九州から北は北海道まで訪問したが事故による影響は見られなかった。北海道の自然は美しく、農産物は安全であり、人々は元気である。

It takes about 6hours from Tokyo to Niseko.

2 years have passed since Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident, I have visited various places from south to north of Japan. Fortunately I have never found any impacts by the accident among creatures. As far as I know, nobody has health problem which is caused by the accident in Hokkaido. So people in Hokkaido have already forgotten the nuclear power plant accident because Hokkaido is very far away from the site and radioactive materials cannot reach there. So people in Hokkaido are living without any concern about the accident.

I continue to visit various places in Japan to see the effects of the accident, because I can meet many people and know how they are. It is important to see their health for our safety.
